Alpha Sigma Nu (ΑΣΝ) is the international honor society of Jesuit colleges and universities. Established in 1915 at Marquette University, Alpha Sigma Nu has close to 90,000 members and initiates approximately 2,000 students yearly.

Alpha Sigma Nu recognizes students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty, and service. The society also encourages its members to a lifetime pursuit of intellectual development, deepening Ignatian spirituality, service to others, and commitment to the core principles of Jesuit education.

“As President of Alpha Sigma Nu, I am very honored to have a role that allows me to create and build community within the Seattle University campus. I am excited for the year ahead of us in which we get to create opportunities that reflect the tenets of service, scholarship, and loyalty, and I look forward to building a connection with my peers!” Mashaal stated.

Mashaal recently represented the SU chapter of ASN at the 35th Alpha Sigma Nu Triennial Conference at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. During the conference, Mashaal was elected to a three-year term as a member of the national ASN board and will participate in the 2023 international conference in Portugal.
