The 2017 Alfie Scholars cohort range in age from 20 to 41. Five were born outside the United States, specifically in Chile, Mexico, Somalia, and Vietnam.

Seven scholars speak another language in addition to English. Six are the first in their families to attend college, and five of them are creating a legacy for their families, for they have 16 children among them.

The students are transferring from five Washington State community colleges: Bellevue, Everett, North Seattle, South Seattle, and Seattle Central. We are very excited to welcome these scholars into our community.
